EXANTE is committed to protecting our clients’ assets. That’s why we use Two-Factor Authentication.
When logging in, account access is provided via "Something you Know" (i.e. a user name and password combination) in conjunction with "Something you Have" (i.e. a randomly generated code). This safeguard is two-fold, and substantially mitigates the risk of online hackers accessing your information.
Supported types
When accessing the Client's Area and Trading Platform, EXANTE supports the following types of verification :
- Code received via SMS
- Code received via Email
- Designated one-time code (Google application)
Setting up Two-Factor Authentication
In order to set up 2-step authentication, visit the 'Settings' window in your Client's Area.
Scroll down until you see '2-Step Authentication'. From here, select which accounts you wish to protect.
Note: 'User account' refers to your login details for the Client's Area.
Once you have toggled the switch, a pop-up window will appear, asking you to choose your type of verification.
Note: An SMS-code is by default required to verify your identity when making a Withdrawal request. If you face difficulties receiving an SMS-code you just need to activate another 2-step authentication type in your Client’s Area and receive code via the chosen source.
I. Via EMAIL
1. In the Settings tab, choose ‘Via Email’
2. Press ‘Send verification code’ to receive a code to your authorised email
3. Enter the code received in the space below.
4. Congrats! Now your account is secured with Two-Step Authentication.
Note: If you want to set up this process for your Trading platform (or your Client’s area), you need to click on the inactive slider.
II. via ONE-TIME PASSWORD APPLICATION
EXANTE recommends that clients use Google Authenticator.
What is Google Authenticator? Google Authenticator is a mobile application that generates 2-Step Verification codes on your phone. You can read more about this application on the official page of Google Help Center: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/1066447?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&hl=en.
1. Download and install Google Authenticator on your mobile device
2. In the Settings tab, choose ‘Via one-time password application’
3. A pop-up window will appear, requiring you to provide a code in order to proceed with the set-up. You can find this code via your registered email
4. Follow the instructions on-screen:
5. Once you’ve completed these steps, press done
6.You can now launch Two-Factor Authentication for your Trading platform/Client’s area. Simply click on the inactive slider to complete this process!
Note: You will be asked to provide a one-time SMS-code once again. Check your email to acquire it. Fill in the field in the SMS confirmation window and press Done. Now both your account and trading platform are fully secured!
Experiencing problems?
Didn't receive the SMS code? Unfortunately, receiving SMS codes depends on the work of mobile operators who may filter messages, preventing you from receiving them. We are working towards fixing this issue, however, that is an ongoing process. We recommend that clients with similar problems use alternative 2FA methods, outlined in the aforementioned paragraphs of this document.
Disable Two-Factor Authentication
You always have the option to disable 2FA in your Client’s area Settings. Moreover, if you still experience any issues, you can contact support@exante.eu for help and guidance.
